The expansion of Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium’s South Stand saw its capacity increased to 54,000 from 48,000.
A new Kalzip roof was constructed over the top of the existing one, which was then removed once the works were completed.
FK used Level 2 BIM extensively in this project, creating our own adaptive components which allowed us to extract and automatically schedule items down to the level of individual roof sheets.
The project was a finalist in the 2015 BCI Awards in the BIM Project Application category and it won the Technical Excellence and Design category at the 2016 Kalzip Teamkal Awards.
