A team of 37 riders from across the group took on the challenge to ride 112 miles from Morecambe to York to raise money in support of the charity.
The charity’s Joint Head of Community Fundraising Carol Robertson visited FK Group’s head office in Altrincham to thank the team for their hard peddling.
Carol explained that the money raised by the cyclists would be used to fund research projects across the country and would pay for twelve and a half days of essential research.
The charity was selected in support of Sarah Gaffney-Lang, the wife of FK Group commercial director Matt Lang, who in her own words is currently “inconvenienced by a brain tumour”.
Speaking on behalf of the team, design director Richard Robinson said at the event: “When we started on the project we were hoping to achieve a sponsorship of around £5,000. We never expected to get to this level and it is testament to the hard work of the fundraisers and our customers and suppliers that we have raised so much, but maybe next year we’ll go for a shorter route!”
Sarah is currently blogging her way through her recovery to show the lighter side of life with a brain tumour – you can follow her inspirational blog here.
